Growth of E-learning

Electronic learning (E-learning) is defined as the delivery of instructional content electronically such as internet, intranet, audio and video equipment, web conferencing, visual classrooms, CD-ROM and more advanced web 2.0 tools. In the beginning, e-learning was known as the name such as computer based learning, audio-visual learning, online learning and web based learning. E-learning services are rapidly becoming a training method preferred by many organizations to develop their staff by allowing unlimited number of people to train at the same time. It is a time and cost effective technique used by many businesses. E-learning solutions have revolutionized training as high quality courses are available to employees at much reduced rates. It provide the opportunity to train the employees in a hassle-free way without sending them to organized training sessions.

Learning management system (LMS) is a software used for teaching and learning process. Mobile learning (m-learning) is a rapidly growing innovation that has the advantage of allowing learners to be "on the move while learning". It also helps a learner to provide recorded lectures while driving to work. So, m-learning is the extension of e-learning which uses mobile phones, MP3 players and personal digital assistance (PDA). So, m-learning and e-learning tools are becoming an affordable and instant available educational options these days.
